How to Use Holiday Wine Labels

Place your wine labels over the existing label on the bottle by removing the peel and stick backing. The material is heavy enough to cover the label on the bottle. If the wine label on the bottle is larger than the new one, then soak the old wine label off in warm soapy water and scrape with a plastic blade to remove any glue residue. Make sure to rinse any soap off the bottle and dry it completely. A bottle at room temperature easily accepts a new label. If the bottle is too cold when you apply the label, it won’t stick as well. Once the label is on you can chill the wine bottle and even put it in ice.

Mimosas & Mistletoe – A Drink Recipe for Christmas Brunch

December 1, 2021 by Jenny Walters Leave a Comment

Who wouldn’t like a celebration in every sip on a holiday like Christmas? For a show stopping brunch drink on Christmas day make this elegant Christmas Mimosa for your guests. Many hosts fall back on the traditional orange juice Mimosa, but there’s a lot more to Mimosa’s than just Champagne and OJ. This Cranberry Mimosa recipe is a refreshing holiday drink and is a nice alternative to the traditional Mimosa. It’s crisp red color fits right in with a Christmas color palette.

Christmas Cranberry Mimosa Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces cranberry juice
  • 4 ounces Champagne
  • A splash of orange liqueur
  • 1 spring of fresh rosemary
  • 2 or 3 (or more) sugared cranberries – find the recipe here

Directions:

Pour cranberry juice into a Champagne flute and top with Champagne. Add just a splash of orange liqueur and drop in a few sugared cranberries. If you like garnish, try a sprig of rosemary. You can use sparkling wine like Prosecco in place of Champagne if you prefer. Some people say to pour a Spanish Cava claiming it’s even more refreshing and crisp.

Garnish with Rosemary Sprigs

Green Rosemary springs are a perfect accompaniment to this red Mimosa. The needles have a fragrant woodsy, evergreen, garden fresh smell. To prepare the Rosemary, wash it in cold water and rub it gently between your hands to loosen any dirt. Pat dry on a paper towel and trim with kitchen shears into individual sprigs. It’s not really a garnish you’d want to eat, but its variegated green needles look festive against the red cranberries.

Add a Sugar Rim to the Glass

The trick to adding sugar to the rim of the glass is to work quickly while rimming. To ensure the best results, prepare your glasses and all of the tools and ingredients you need before you begin. Pour a small amount of orange liqueur into a small dish and have sugar ready on a small tray or plate. First, dip the top of the glass in the orange liqueur. Next, roll the rim of the glass in the sugar. The deeper the liqueur and sugar the thicker the sugared rim on the glass. I like to refrigerate the glasses until it’s time to serve up the Mimosas.

Personalize the Champagne Bottle

It wouldn’t be the holidays without decorating everything in sight, including bottles of wine and Champagne. There are so many festive holiday themed labels to choose from. So why not make a personalized Christmas Champagne label by using our Christmas templates. They’re easy to personalize and add a bit of glam to ordinary bottles.

A Guide to Finding Hot Sauce Bottles to Make Christmas Gifts

November 1, 2021 by Cindy Springer Leave a Comment

Making hot sauce gifts for Christmas. Include a custom hot sauce label with your information.

Whether you’re showing off your best hot sauce recipe or incorporating the latest pepper crop from your garden, making hot sauce is a unique and tasty Christmas gift for friends and family. There’s a reason we sell so many hot sauce labels; people love spicing up their food! Habanero, jalapeño, serrano and other peppers are gardeners’ favorites, and their spicy piquancy adds zest to homemade hot sauce. If you’re thinking about mixing up your own batch of hot sauce for Christmas gifts, then you’ll need to find the right bottles. Typically, that means bottles that are 4 to 5 ounces in size. This must-read guide provides a sample of three different types of hot sauce bottles to buy and the labels to fit them.

Dasher Bottles for Hot Sauce

The most popular choice for hot sauce bottles is the 5 oz. glass dasher bottle. It’s typically 6.68″H x 1.81″ in diameter and brings to mind the traditional Tabasco sauce bottle everyone recognizes. It’s called a dasher because the topper dispenses only dashes of hot sauce, which if your sauce is smokin’ hot, is probably a good thing. This bottle is available in small quantities, which makes it even more appealing for budget conscious Christmas shoppers.

Dasher bottle for hot sauce making.
  • Kegworks offers a single 5 oz. glass bottle at $2.29, but if you buy 12 or more pay only $1.79 each.
  • Amazon sells a 5 oz. glass bottle in cases of 12 with black shrink bands for the bottle necks, priced at $14.95.
  • Plastic (PVC) 5 oz. hot sauce bottles are available from the Cary Co. starting at $0.44 USD.

TIP: If you decide to buy in bulk from an online wholesaler make sure the lids and dasher inserts are included in the price. Some sites offer lower prices for large orders, but the caps and inserts are not included.

Labels for Dasher Bottles

For labeling the 5 oz. dasher bottle you’ll want to check out the 3″ w x 2″ h sticker. Some bottles can handle the 2″ w x 3″ h size so before you order make sure you measure your bottle’s label panel. Select a pre-made hot sauce design and add your words or make one from scratch.

Make a hot sauce label that fits dasher bottles with your hot sauce name and information.

Swing Top Bottles

The alternate to the dasher bottle is called the swing top or flip top glass bottle. It comes with a swing clamp top plus a gasket which prevents leaks and is universally described as airtight. For hot sauce gifts the 4.25 ounce size is just right.

One drawback to this bottle is how fast the hot sauce comes out. Unlike the dasher bottle, there’s nothing to regulate the hot sauce flow, so beware! This bottle is available with round or square bases depending on the source. Most bottles run right around 5 inches in height.

A popular bottle called a swing top bottle for bottling hot sauce Christmas gifts.
  • Get one 4.25 oz. glass swing top from Amazon priced at $8.79. A pack of 20 is $64.99 which brings the price down to $3.25 each.
  • Specialty Bottle sells single 4 oz. bottles starting at $2.51. That price holds up until the quantity of 119.
  • One bottle is $3.59 from Everything Kitchens.
  • The Container Store lists this bottle as a 4.25 square hermetic bottle on their website for $4.49 each. If you plan on shopping in-store check their site for availability via zip code search. The two stores near me had 18 and 4 in stock.

TIP: Buying by the case can bring the price down in some instances. At Amazon buying a case of 20 brought the price down. At Specialty Bottle the case price for 20 bottles stays the same as if you buy a single bottle.

Labels for Swing Top Bottles

To label a mini swing top bottle choose the dropper bottle on our website. Check the measurement against your bottle and see if it works for you. It’s 3″ w x 1.5″ h. Design your own hot sauce label for this bottle size here.

Make your own hot sauce label for bottling hot sauce and giving hot sauce for Christmas gifts.

Mini Squeeze Bottles

If glass bottles aren’t your first choice due to concerns over breakage, then plastic squeeze bottles are an option to consider.

  • Walmart sells 4 oz. plastic squeeze bottles. The bottle is 4.7″ h x 1.6″ diameter. They come with a pre-cut hole for precise portions, but you can cut a larger hole for faster dispensing. Think twice about that if your hot sauce is off-the-charts hot!
  • Even Target gets in on the act with a 4 oz. squeeze bottle. The top looks just like the orange Elmer’s glue cap only in black. The dispenser tip is a bit unconventional for hot sauce, but they claim it’s good for sauces and condiments. It’s sold online only at a regular price of $24.99 for a 24 pack. The bottle diameter is 1.8″ and it’s 5.3″ h.

TIP: When buying plastic food containers check to make sure they are food-grade and BPA free.

Plastic squeeze bottles in the mini size make great hot sauce bottles for homemade hot sauce.

Labels for Squeeze Bottles

Because the base of the plastic squeeze bottle is fairly small the recommended label sizes are 3″ w x 2″ h rectangle and 2.5 inch circle.

Custom Gifts Home Brewers Will Appreciate this Holiday Season

December 2, 2020 by Jenny Walters Leave a Comment

The gifts that make the holidays memorable are the ones you’ve taken care to select. When you give a gift to your favorite brewer this year make sure it’s something special. Brewing is the epitome of careful craftsmanship as most brewers would agree, so here are a few ideas for someone that appreciates the unique.

Give Your Brewer Custom Bottle Neck Labels

Neck labels are the smallest label on a beer bottle and are applied to the neck of the bottle. They are curved to accept the shape of the neck and partially wrap around it. With a custom beer neck label you have the ability to add a batch number, monogram, logo, or in this case, a holiday greeting. Neck labels are the finishing touch to branding beer whether it’s for gifts or for a craft brewery.

Custom beer bottle neck labels make unique gifts for home brewers.

Make Custom Beer Labels With a Holiday Theme

You might say you’re not a designer, but don’t stress about design since you can simply add your text to our ready-made beer label templates. Beer labels come in rectangles, ovals, and squares. The beer label we call our “standard beer label” is 4 inches wide by 3.5 inches high so it fits not only on long necks but on stubbies. If you’re labeling a growler or squealer you might consider our “growler labels” which come 6 x 4 in portrait or landscape, and in square sizes 5 x 5 and 4 x 4.

Check out our wide variety of Christmas beer label designs, many of which have bottle neck labels that are companion designs by the same name.

Christmas brew dressed up with a custom label makes gifts home brewers appreciate. Order one or 100!
Make your home brewer a custom oval beer bottle label as a Christmas gift this year.

Surprise them with Custom Beer Bottle Caps

While we don’t currently offer custom beer caps we can say that this custom touch makes homemade beer not only look like this is a serious beer brewer, but a pro at that. Find custom beer caps at BottleMark Custom Bottle Caps.

Custom bottle caps are a great gift idea for home beer makers.

Customize a Bottle Carrier

Four-bottle or six-bottle carriers are available online from a variety of companies, including Amazon. They’re generally made of chipboard or cardboard and come with a handle for easy carrying along with dividers to protect the bottles .

Make custom six pack carriers by adding a large 6 x 4 growler label.

Many printing companies require a minimum order quantity in the hundreds if not thousands for custom carriers, so we’re offering this simple solution; personalize bottle carries with a custom label on the side. It’s fast and cheap. When you only need a small quantity of bottle carriers Amazon offers a package of ten bottle carriers in white or kraft cardboard.

Give the home brewer in your life a custom six pack carrier by adding a custom 6 x 4 inch label.

We added a 6″ wide by 4″ high custom growler label on each side of the carrier. These custom labels are available in quantities as low as one. This makes it very easy to create a custom carrier as a gift for your favorite home brewer.

Design a Personalized Bottle Opener

For a gift that keeps on giving, make a custom beer bottle opener that fits in a pocket like a credit card. Your home brewer will love opening a bottle for friends with one of these handy tools.

Bottle opener; credit card size with custom imprint is a gift any beer maker or beer drinker will appreciate.

Since the holidays are a favorite time to break out the home brew, these custom inexpensive gifts are ones your favorite brewer will appreciate.

If you’re a home brewer let us know your favorite gift from the past. Add your suggestions in the comments. On the other hand if you need assistance please visit our live chat Monday through Friday from 9 am to 3 pm at bottleyourbrand dot com.
