Get the Most Out of Your Trade Show Handout

December 30, 2013 by Cindy Springer Leave a Comment

Promotional bottled water for trade shows should include all of your contact information.

Trade shows are great for several reasons; sales opportunities, learning, networking and they’re an excellent place to launch new products. Internet transactions or phone calls will never replace the face to face meetings that a trade show provides. At your next trade show extend your reach with a personalized bottled water handout.

Smart trade show hand outs should do several important things for you:

  • Give crucial information about your business
  • Be memorable
  • Be useful
  • Enhance your image

Personalized bottled water accomplishes all of the above.

Your label is the focus of the bottle, so provide key business information on your label with carefully chosen graphics and text. It’s important your water bottle label has all the essentials you want to communicate to potential clients about your products or services.

Important elements to include on trade show bottled water.

Important things to put on your bottled water label.

Tramp around a hot convention floor for hours and you work up a mighty thirst. When attendees get to your booth, a cool bottle of pure spring water is a welcome sight, making your bottled water giveaway useful, not to mention healthy. When your logo and information are on the label it’s eye-catching and a conversation piece.

Private label bottled water portrays your business as desirable since private labeling is viewed as a sign of prosperity and class. However, we’ve made it a “luxury” that’s affordable and creative. Sharp images, a colorful logo, a clever byline, all on an eco-friendly, recycled bottle filled with pure spring water; it’s a magic formula for trade show handouts.

We’ve been producing and shipping private label bottled water to trade shows, hotels and conventions for over ten years. We have the experience and knowledge to guide you through the process. If you have never customized bottled water before, or received shipments at a trade show or convention, here are some important things you need to know:

1. What Should I Put on My Bottled Water Label?

  • The label design should be colorful, uncluttered and readable. You get extra points for being creative.
  • We recommend the label include your phone number, email address and URL as mandatory information. Your business address is a good idea.
  • A sharp logo is highly desirable.
  • Bullet points about your products or services are great, if space allows.

Here are some examples illustrating the above. These bottled water labels have all the elements to make a great give-away for a trade show.

This label shows what information can be included on a bottled water label for a business.

All the contact information a customer needs about this business is included on the label.

2. How Do I Make a Water Bottle Label?

You might already have a graphic designer who will create a label for you. If so that’s great, all graphic file types can be uploaded and ordered. However, with the online label designer you don’t have to hire a graphic designer, all you need is a high resolution logo and/or photo. High resolution means the file must be 300 pixels per inch resolution.

Steps to Making a Label for Trade Show Bottled Water:

  1. Save the file or logo to an easily accessible place on your computer. We recommend your desktop.
  2. On BottleYourBrand.com start at this page to make a label from scratch.
  3. Select your bottle size and case quantity. (There are 24 bottles in a case.) Once you have made your choices click on “Personalize”.
  4. Now you’re in the design screen. Upload your logo by clicking on Add Image. Re-size and move  the logo on the label by selecting EDIT in the gray box and using the tools.
  5. Next select the Add Text tool and type your information. The text tool will allow you to choose a font style and a font color. It’s easy to match the colors to your logo using the color picker tool on the text tool bar. Use the text tool to move, re-size or center the text.
  6. To change any elements hover over the word Edit and select it. A tool bar will appear with options for changes. If you want a proof of your label, email us with your order number requesting a proof. We’ll email back within 24 hours. Your order won’t go to print until you approve the proof. Keep in mind this might delay production.

3. What Bottle Size Should I Choose?

Generally we recommend our smaller bottle for handouts. That’s the 12 ounce size. Why? For several reasons. Number one: It’s just the right size for carrying, either in hand or in a bag. Number two: It’s more economical to ship. The 12 ounce case weight is 8 pounds lighter than the 16.9 oz case weight and more cases fit on a pallet. 84 cases/2016 bottles ship on one full skid. Whereas a full skid of the 16.9 oz. size holds 72 cases or 1728 bottles. The price to ship one skid is the same whether it holds 84 cases or 72 cases. So economically it makes more sense to choose the 12 ounce as a good value for trade shows or conventions.

Bottle sizes to choose from for trade show and convention give always- 12 oz and 16.9 oz bottled water

4. Will My Order Arrive at the Trade Show On Time?

Please allow at least 14 days for production and shipping of bottled water orders. Use the Shipping Instructions box found on the check out page under Shipping Method, to tell us your in-hands date. Our shipping manager will set the ship date so your order will arrive on the day you need it. We generally allow an extra day for any transit or mechanical delays.

The place in your order where you tell us when you need your bottled water to arrive at the trade show.

5. What If a Trade Show Management Company is Handling the Shipments?

Many trade shows have companies like GES or Freeman who set required shipment arrival dates and handle all the packages for a trade show. These companies often provide informational packets with shipping labels, special instructions and handling information. Simply fax or email your shipping labels to us with any pertinent information and we’ll do the rest.

6. What If I’m Shipping to a Hotel?

Please contact the hotel and ask if there is a charge to store packages. If so, we’ll target the date you plan to arrive and ship for that date. Some hotels do not charge storage fees and simply ask that packages be shipped to the concierge or the catering manager. A phone call on your part to obtain this information will aid us in getting your private label water to you within the most efficient time frame.

A Smart Trade Show Handout

As trade show season approaches feel confident when you choose personalized bottled water; it will represent your company well.  Our return customers know that year after year giving private label water is a smart choice for trade show handouts. Give us a call or send us an email if you have further questions about shipping bottled water to trade shows. We’re happy to assist you with artwork as well as logistics.

Five Wedding Trends We’re Seeing in Custom Labels

December 26, 2013 by Cindy Springer Leave a Comment

Wedding Water Bottle Label with PhotoTrends for Weddings

At BYB we’re seeing definite trends emerge for 2014 in wedding labels, as new ideas are incorporated with the old to create fresh custom wedding favors. By looking at customers’ orders as they come through the queue, we see definite favorites. As a result we’ve compiled the top five wedding trends based on the last six months of 2013.

Details are what make a wedding brilliant. Whether your personal style is contemporary, traditional or romantic, one detail that brides are adding to their wedding must-have list is custom wedding labels. Coordinate your wedding wine labels and water bottle labels to enhance the general aesthetic of your table décor. Other shapes like ovals and circle stickers are popping up on favors as DIY brides make their own custom favors online.

What’s trending now? Let’s take a look:

Number 5:  “I (Moustache) You”

This trend has been around for a few years, but is still holding strong as grooms are using the popular moustache icon on beer and wine labels to ask their friends to be groomsmen.

Number 4: “Will You Marry Me?” Wine & Champagne Labels

It’s all in the delivery and proposals printed on wine or champagne labels are a romantic way to pop the question and the ultimate way to celebrate once she says, “Yes!” Your favorite bottle of wine is right there at hand to toast to your future.

Number 3: “I’ve Got My Guy, but I Need My Girls”

Variations on this popular theme are created in our online-design-program as brides ask their BFFs to be bridesmaids in their wedding using a bottle of wine with a custom label they made themselves. Use this template to get started.

Number 2: Chevron Patterns on Water Bottle Labels, Wine Labels & Favor Labels

Chevrons are the up and coming trend we’re seeing in custom wedding labels. Chevrons in all colors and dimensions continue to be a favored wedding trend as we enter the 2014 wedding season. You’ll find chevron templates on BYB, but you can upload your own custom label as these customer submitted examples show.

Number 1: Photo Wine Labels and Photo Water Bottle Labels

This trend is holding strong at number one as couples use engagement photos on their wedding wine labels. We’ve also seen childhood photos of the bride and groom side by side on wine labels, a favored nostalgic trend that continues to be popular. Water bottle labels with photos, nutrition facts, then and now photos are also popular with brides.

Holiday Gift Idea #6: Mini Paint Can Christmas Favor

December 13, 2013 by Cindy Springer Leave a Comment

Christmas party favor idea - mini paint can with custom circle sticker

Mini Paint Can Favor with Custom Circle Sticker

Twelve days until Christmas and if you’re like me you’re wading through the to-do list and it just keeps getting longer! Well take Christmas favors off your list because this idea is easy enough you can have your husband or kids do it for you.

Mini paint cans are everywhere in craft and party stores and we have a super cute way for you to decorate them using a custom circle sticker, gift wrap and a bow. Set one of these favors next to everyone’s dinner plate on Christmas eve or Christmas day and you’ll get smiles all around. Mini paint can favors will also fit inside a Christmas stocking. They come in all sizes and we used the 3 inch diameter by 3 3/8 inch high size.

Mini paint can for party favors

The lid on the mini paint can is just the place to show off your Christmas message. The circle sticker we used on the lid of the mini paint can is 2 inches around. Make your own custom circle sticker

  • Custom circle sticker
  • Mini paint can
  • Gift wrap
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon
  • Candy or stocking stuffer gift
  • Start by purchasing your mini paint cans. Measure the lid so you know what size circle sticker to order.

Place your order for the sticker. Allow for two business days time to print the sticker and then add on the time it takes to ship to your house. This time of year you’ll want to think about ordering this weekend.

Measure around the outside of the paint can and cut a length of gift wrap 1/2 inch longer than the circumference of the can. I like to cut the height so some of the treats inside the can are showing, but you might want to hide the contents so adjust the height to fit the size of the can you purchased.

Measure one half inch longer than the circumference of your min paint can to cut the gift wrap.

Drop the strip of gift wrap inside the can and tape the the seam.

Place the paper gift wrap strip inside the mini paint can and tape the seam.

Place the sticker on the lid and put the lid on the can.

Close up of the circle sticker and mini paint can Christmas favor

Tie a ribbon (optional) on the handle.

Circle sticker on the lid of the mini paint can favor.

Fill with Christmas candy, cookies or maybe a small stocking stuffer gift. Inside this can are foil-wrapped chocolate balls.

This holiday gift idea is sixth in our series of gift ideas using custom stickers and labels. Every idea we share has less than ten steps to make and the cost is usually under $5. If you have a gift idea or favor idea using our products please feel free to share with us and we’ll pass the idea on to our readers. Email any ideas to [email protected].

Holiday Gift Idea #5: Wine Gift Wrap Idea

December 9, 2013 by Cindy Springer Leave a Comment

It’s not too late to make a wine label for your wine gifts this year. In part five of our series of Holiday Gift Ideas we show you how to wrap a wine bottle with items everyone has on hand this time of year. This gift wrap idea is easy enough for beginners and adds flair to giving wine. Anyone can show up at a party and shove a wine bottle at the host. It will go on the bar next to all the other bottles and they’ll forget which one you gave them. Now this can be a good thing if you’re giving cheap wine, but if you’re giving a bottle of wine you took time to select, then give a bottle with a festive wrap. The host or hostess is certain to remember your gift. The only tools you need is a ruler,  scotch tape and scissors. Third grade kids use these tools and you can too! As promised this takes ten steps or less to make.

Easy Wine Bottle Gift Wrap Idea -Use supplies on hand

Normally we recommend you remove the existing label and add your custom label. This idea is for those of you who want to leave the original wine label on the bottle, but still want to give wine with a personalized touch. It saves the time it takes to soak off the original label which, depending on the adhesive, can take a while.

Your first step is to go online to www.BottleYourBrand.com and order your holiday wine label. To customize a wine label online is very simple. We ship them out within two business days so there’s still plenty of time to order wine labels before the holidays.  The minimum order is ten labels giving you plenty of  labels for all of the Christmas parties you attend.

    Materials to assemble:

    • Festive gift wrap
    • Scotch Tape
    • Ruler
    • Pencil
    • Scissors
    • Ribbon
    • Custom Wine Label
    • Wine Bottle

Materials you'll need to assemble for wine gift wrap. The fifth in our series on Gift Wrap Ideas.

When your wine labels arrive. Gather together the rest of the materials.  Unroll the gift wrap and measure out a square approximately 18 inches by 18 inches. Cut out the square and with the print side down roll the gift wrap around the bottle two times leaving about 1/2 inch extending out from the bottom of the bottle. Crimp and tape securely on the bottom of the bottle.

Take a length of ribbon and wrap twice around the bottle neck bringing the ends to the front and tie a simple bow. Wired ribbon works exceptionally well because the ribbon stays perky, allowing for you to shape it.

With the scissors take the top of the wrap above the neck of the bottle and cut into strips. Gently pull the first and second layer of gift wrap apart fluffing up the strips.

Cut slits in the top of the gift wrap and separate the two layers to make the top full looking.

Peel the protective backing off the wine label and square up to the bottle. Place the label on the bottle and smooth from the center to the left and then to the right removing any air bubbles.

That’s all! Step back and take a look at your fancy wine gift. Good job!
