We're frequently asked if we print wine labels for the back of wine bottles. Yes, we absolutely do! There is nothing specifically different from the back label compared to the front it just generally has a different design. Traditional store bought wines use the back label to display the required FDA information, source location, a barcode and possibly a short story about the origin or something else along those lines.
When creating your own wine labels for your homemade wines it’s really up to you what you place on the label. For that reason there is no “standard” size for wine labels neither front nor back. You can use the same size label (3.5” wide by 4” tall) for the back as you do the front or make the back label smaller, say a 3” x 3” size. You could also elect to go bigger on the back label and do a 4” x 4” or a 5” x 5” but again it’s strictly up to you and the design you want.
How To Create A Back Wine Label
It’s easy to create a back wine label, simply choose the size you would like and design the label in the same manner as you would the front one. Many people elect to design the front label first and that’s fine. Once you’re finished with the front design and have added it to your shopping cart, (don’t forget to save it to your account) click on “continue shopping”. You will be redirected back to the home page where you can start again and choose the size you want for your back wine label. To help you find the size you need use the left navigation bar on the category pages to drill down by size or shape and also use the search function at the top to find sizes or designs.
Designing the back wine label works the same as the front. Once you’re finished creating, add the back label design to your shopping cart with the front design and checkout. Back labels for wine bottles are printed in the same process as the front labels so they will ship out just as quickly and with the same high quality printing.
Designs For The Back Of A Wine Bottle
The simple way to design a back label for your wine bottles is to add a full color background and some text. That can be done in literally seconds, but if you want to get a bit fancier we offer the ability to add photos, logos, or any type of image you like by simply clicking the “add image” button in the design studio. Remember, to get a back wine label that prints sharp and crisp you need to upload files that are 300 dpi. If it looks blurry on screen it will print that way. Our designers will review your order to check that it will print well before it goes to the press and if it isn’t we’ll try to contact you, but that will slow down the production process. The best thing you can do is start with a nice large file for the back of your wine bottle and confirm it isn't blurry when uploaded to the website.
