Real Events: 1st Birthday Luau Party

As summer turns into fall and the temperatures start drop and the sun disappears, we are looking for things that remind us of the warm sunny days of summer. Mission accomplished with this bright and colorful luau party that we were lucky enough to be a part of back in August.

Linda from Frog Prince Cake and Cookie Design recently put together a tropical themed luau for her niece’s 1st birthday, and we contributed the labels for water bottles – take a look at how it all came together – its pretty cute!

Kids wore bathing suits and played on a water slide, and there were hula hoop contests to keep everyone entertained. As for the sweet dessert table, there were creatively decorated sugar cookies, pina colada cupcakes served under a mini tiki bar, brownies, themed candy (check out the Gummi pigs – hysterical!) and a gorgeous cake that was made by Linda herself.

Thanks for letting us be a part of such a special day, Linda! We love the way it all turned out.

Fairies in My Garden, is an Australian based shop that offers hand crafted gifts, tea parties, and more. Their owner, Kim,  recently placed an order with us for a few different label designs for her son’s birthday party that was going to be a Star Wars theme. We just got some of the pictures in from the party and we wanted to share this fun and creative party, and the way that Kim used our labels, with you. Check it out…

Congrats on a job well done, Kim! The party looks like it turned out great. Our favorite part has to be the Yoda Soda – by far. What a fabulous idea!

A Cookies and Milk Party Theme

Cookies and Milk Birthday Party Invitation, Bottle Your Brand

We are crazy about our new Milk and Cookies party theme set. It’s whimsical, fun, a little bit retro (because, let’s face it, the idea of milk and cookies as a snack is a little bit retro) and just the right amount of playful. All in all, the perfect set for a kids birthday party!

We’ve found a TON of inspiration for a sweet party like this. Let’s start with the milk. There are so many cute ways to display it and package it for your party.

We love the idea of the large glass juice containers filled with chocolate or regular milk – this would  also be a great idea for a wedding reception. Using old Starbucks Frappucino bottles, you can give them custom labels and they look like perfect little mini-milk bottles. So many options!

Next up, the most important part, if you happen to ask us – the cookies. Don’t think you have to stick with the standard chocolate chip variety – although, it is delicious. There are plenty of yummy choices – in fact, having an entire “cookie bar” with different types to choose from, is a great idea.

What about the cake made entirely out of Oreo cookies? We love it!

Third, let’s not forget about some cute party favors…

And finally, just because its too cute not to share – we are head over heels for these more “grown-up” versions of the classic cookies and milk combo. Perfect for a wedding snack or mini-dessert at your next shindig – we love the take on making it look like fancy cocktails.

New Party Trend: Push-Up Cakes

We spend a lot of time keeping up to date on what is happening in the party planning and design world these days – and there are so many brilliant creative options out there – from decor and themes, to favors and food. One trend we have seen a ton of recently? The Push-Up cakes and cookies. A little bit like the retro Push-Pop candy, these adorable treats are a fun way to eat and package cookies, cakes and cupcakes – attach a custom label that fits with your party theme and you’re good to go. We’ve even seen them filled with candy…great idea, if you ask us!

Pretty Favor and Party Packaging from Etsy

We happen to love pretty packaging – if it comes in a charming, cute or well-designed package, we usually fall for it. Custom labels are of course, a great way to put that finishing touch on packages and gifts – but beyond that, cute boxes and bags for homemade treats, favors and more, are a great place to get started making your packages look amazing.

We’ve come across a lot of party and favor packaging shops with unique options on Etsy recently, and they are stocked full of charming picks that would look great with your very own custom label. Whether you are an expert pie baker and need boxes to package your goods for holiday gifts for friends, or a cupcake queen that needs a pretty way to carry your little cakes to friends and family on their birthdays – there are a ton of lovely options out there.

Check out our picks from some of our favorite Etsy sellers…

FromSoul has a lot of simple choices for packaging that can be jazzed up with colorful twine, pretty tags and even doilies, lace or ribbon. Each box is sweet and stylish – we especially love the macaroon boxes!

For all of you cupcake fiends out there, Hey Yo Yo has cute little boxes with “windows” to safely and adorably transport your little cakes.

Last but not least, and this store is one of our favorites, we have Petit Moulin. We adore their vintage-inspired choices and minimalist (but charming!) options. The little cherries are our number one pick!

Rock Star Birthday Party Custom Label from Bottle Your Brand

Every week we are adding new designs to our collection of invitations and custom labels, and this week its the Party Like a Rock Star set – perfect for a little kid’s birthday party. We love the bright colors and dynamic illustrations and designs on this set – complete with a custom favor label, invitation and water bottle label. This could make for a super fun party – for example: play upbeat music and give the kids their own blow-up guitars to play, give away personalized guitar picks as favors and make sure each kid has a pair of hip sunglasses. Check out some more inspiration below…

Making VIP Access name tags for each kid is a brilliant idea – fun for them and perhaps it will even help you to keep track of them. Music note cookies are another great idea and easy enough to make and frost at home yourself! Fake microphones are another great party extra kids would have a ball playing with – perfect for singing along to their favorite song.

One of the best ‘Rock Star’ party examples that we’ve seen is this one below, from Hostess with the Mostess – creative and perfectly executed down to the last detail – its a wonderful source of inspiration if you’re thinking about hosting a ‘Rock Star’ party soon! We love the swag bag for party favors, and star shaped cake pops.
