Can You Serve Wine at a Baby Shower?

baby_animals_wine An etiquette question to be sure!  You’re planning an event where the person of honor likely can’t have any alcohol, so is it ok to serve wine at a baby shower?

The answer?  Of course!  Just because the mama-to-be probably won’t be knocking any glasses of vino back doesn’t mean your guests can’t enjoy some libations!

Dress up the bottles with some adorable baby shower-themed wine labels and they’ll fit right in.  We have some really cute designs in our Baby Shower category, you’re sure to find a design you love (including “Baby Animals“, shown above).  If you’re feeling artistic, though, it’s easy to create completely custom designs too.

We recommend serving a bottle of red and a bottle of white, so your guests can choose their favorite.  Our wine labels are completely waterproof, so no worries about keeping the white wine on ice.

We’ve found that serving wine at parties can help people mingle more comfortably.  There will likely be a lot of people at the shower who haven’t met before, so everything you can do to encourage guests to chat and introduce themselves is great!

If you’re really hesitant about serving wine, just ask the mama-to-be how she feels.  If she isn’t bothered, no one else will be either!

Simply Amazing Retirement Party Decorations

daugherty_retirement_label Dee, one of our lovely customers, sent us this photo from her father-in-law’s retirement party and our jaws dropped.  These decorations are adorable!

She said she’d been stumped for decoration ideas until she took a look at the retirement party invitations and decided to use hammocks as her theme.  She built little hammocks in trays of sand as her centerpieces, and then found cardboard palm trees filled with mints to sit next to each place setting.

The custom water bottles, also featuring hammocks, tied the whole look together.  As you can see in the photo, the overall effect is relaxed, stylish, and perfect for celebrating a retirement!

To get this look, check out “Retirement Rocks“, a custom water bottle label featuring cool greens, blues, and, of course, a hammock!

A 30th Birthday Custom Label Extravaganza!

custom-labeled-bottles-in-ice-2 What do you get when one of the employees of Bottle Your Brand has a big birthday milestone to celebrate?  A custom label extravaganza, that’s what!

Erika, the reigning social media expert and content queen over at Bottle Your Brand headquarters, celebrated her husband’s 30th birthday last week using BBQ food, a giant cupcake, and five different kinds of custom labels.

custom-water-bottles-in-ice-2 Erika made sure to keep her guests hydrated and happy with custom water bottles.  The water bottle labels featured Yoda (from Star Wars) and Malcolm Reynolds (from Firefly), characters from two of her husband’s favorite shows.

She bought two cases of water from Costco, removed the original labels, and stuck the custom labels on in their place.  As you can see, the custom labels stayed perfectly on the bottles, even though the bottles were submerged in ice and water for hours.

No doubt about it, this 30th birthday party and its custom labels were a hit!  For more photos from this party, please check out our “Graduations and Celebrations” photo gallery.

Retirement Party Ideas!

7-day-weekend-sticker Retirement parties are some of the most fun to plan.  You’re celebrating a lifetime of hard work, and some well-earned time off!

If you’re celebrating the retiree in your life, why not put the emphasis on the relaxation that’s in store for them?  You can find some inexpensive tiki torches at a party store, encourage everyone to show up wearing Hawaiian shirts, and use the “7 Day Weekend Sticker” to seal bags of retirement-themed favors.

Fun retirement party favors can include small bottles of sunscreen, golf tees, and candies.  Toss them all in clear cellophane bags, and seal them closed with these retirement party custom labels!  The beach and gently swaying palm trees set just the right tone for a retirement party!

Additionally, if you have a little retirement retreat tucked away in your favorite vacation spot, you can use these custom labels to add a personalized touch to the gift basket you leave for guests, welcoming them to your vacation home.  Use these labels on little bars of soap, or packets of local treats, and your guests will be absolutely blown away!

Great Adult Birthday Party Favor Idea!

custom-long-island-iced-tea One of our customers submitted this photo to our gallery and we liked the idea so much we just had to share it!  Wanda is planning a 50th birthday party for her husband, and she customized bottles of Long Island Iced Tea mix for party favors!

We adore party favors that guests will love and actually want to take home, and this one is perfect for adults!  There are so many alcoholic beverage mixers you could use for these favors, the options are staggering!  Margarita mix, lemon drop mix (this would be cute for a bridal shower or bachelorette party!), bloody mary mix, you name it!

To customize this idea for your own, simply buy the bottles of mix (Costco has really great deals on alcoholic beverage mixers), tall cellophane bags, and party color coordinated ribbons.  Order custom wine labels from us, and apply the labels to the bottles over the original labels.

Then, stick the customized bottles in the cellophane bags, tie and curl the ribbons at the top, and voila!  A custom party favor your guests will definitely not want to leave behind!

If you’ve got pictures of our labels in action, please send them to us!  We love to see them, and you could win a $25 Amazon gift card in our monthly drawing!  You can find details, including the email address to send your photos, on this page.
